Pass On Being Ice Cold This Winter

Winter time is full of snow, outdoor skiing, and chilly sleigh rides. Don't let this seasons cold get into your bones. Many spices have a warming nature, when added to your foods or drinks, they provide the body with warmth and energy to stay warm during the winter season.

Try adding these to your daily meals such as oatmeal, teas, soups, meat roasts: black pepper, cardamon, clove cinnamon, coriander, cumin, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, onion, paprika, saffron, star anise, turmeric, and thyme. Foods also have cold and warm natures in the winter try eating more: beef, lamb, chestnut and walnut.

I like to pick a few of these spices (or use a pre-made pumpkin pie spice with these already mixed) and soak overnight in the crock pot with either oatmeal or rice with and 8:1 ration of water to food, top off in the morning with some walnuts, and brown sugar and it makes for a great warming breakfast!
